It would be a tragic thing to discover on that Day, that your life… though you may have been saved and achieved a measure of worldly success…was a complete waste. I don’t know about you, but my goal is to live a life worthy of the sacrifice of Jesus Christ and worthy of His calling on my life. These are persons who lived lives worthy of the sacrifice of Jesus, and for the quality of their works, they will be generously rewarded. Some however, will withstand the examination of fire and be proven to be made up of precious jewels, costly stones, gold and silver. Scripture indicates that the sum of my life on that day will be evaluated, tested by fire, to determine its worth.ġ Corinthians chapter 3, verses 13-15 tells us that on that Day when the works of our lives are tested by fire, some will incinerate, proving the quality of that person’s life to be straw or hay. When I pass from this life and, in an instant, stand face to face before my Maker and Lord I will be required to give an account of the life that I lived in the flesh. The only things that have lasting value, are those things which are eternal. When I die, I will leave behind possessions, wealth, influence, relationships, education, career, romance, etc.
